ReSAKSS-Asia is currently planning an international conference to be held in September 2013 that will focus on agricultural transformation and policy options for food and nutrition security. This conference emphasizes broad collaboration among agriculture and food policy researchers in the region and the conference presentations will be based on country policy studies conducted by national researchers. The studies on fertilizer, seed, and input policies will be conducted for 12 Asian countries including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The national researchers will lead the country studies. Through this research process, a broad collaboration in the region is expected to be strengthened, which will help to build a foundation for developing a regional network among agricultural and food policy researchers and promoting policy dialogue and mutual learning.

In the preparation for the September conference and to promote the early communication among researchers across countries and between researchers and policymakers and other stakeholders, a technical consultative workshop for country collaborators is planned on May 6-7 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
