IFPRI and University of Central Asia will organize a workshop titled "Evidence Based Analysis of Agriculture and Food Security in Kyrgyzstan" in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, April 2. A new web portal, Kyrgyzstan Spatial, will be launched at the workshop.
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in collaboration with Eurasian Center for Food Security (ECFS) at the Moscow State University and the World Bank organized a training workshop on advanced economy-wide modeling: International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT) at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Moscow, Russia.

The 6th CAER-IFPRI Annual Conference on “Resource Constraints and Sustainable Food System In China” will be held October 16-17, 2014 in Shaanxi, China, aiming to explore the related issues and countermeasures of sustainable food in both China and the rest of the world, because the resource constraints and their impacts on food system have become the center of societal discussions in China.
A conference on "Agricultural Transformation in Asia: Policy Options for Food and Nutrition Security" will be organized by IFPRI and Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) on September 25-27 in Siem Reap Province, Kingdom of Cambodia.
The overall goal of the conference is to promote broad collaboration among policy makers, researchers, and regional stakeholders in the sub-regions of Asia (Central, South, and Southeast Asia) to share research evidence, policy experiences, and practical lessons, in order to help improve the effectiveness of current and future agricultural and food security strategies in Asia.
The conference will have four principal objectives:
Themed "Human Nutrition and Livestock” the 2nd Scientific Asia and the Pacific Symposium on Sustainable Diets will bring together dieticians, nutritionists, scientists, researchers and students on food and agricultural field, progressive farmers, policy makers, and others with interests in human nutrition and livestock sector.
2nd Into Myanmar AgriTrade, Investments & Technology Global Summit is scheduled to be held from 19 to 20 June plus featuring a special optional conference on Myanmar’s Livestock, Feed & Food Processing Opportunities on 21 June 2013 in Yangon, Myanmar.
IFPRI will continue with its AMD (Applied Microeconomics and Development) Seminar Series on Thursday, May 16 at 12:00pm EST. Dilip Mookherjee of Boston University will present on how asymmetric information impacts middleman margins, farm-gate prices, and overall trade.
ReSAKSS-Asia is currently planning an international conference to be held in September 2013 that will focus on agricultural transformation and policy options for food and nutrition security. This conference emphasizes broad collaboration among agriculture and food policy researchers in the region and the conference presentations will be based on country policy studies conducted by national researchers. An International Symposium on Frontier Research Themes on Service Sector support for Food Value Chain Development in Developing Countries will be co-organized by Renmin University of China (RUC) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Beijing, 10 April 2013. The symposium will cover various topis under food value chain development such as finance and risk mitigation services, distribution services and agricultural input services, findings and gaps in knowledge and methods. A workshop on "The Feed the Future Zone in the South and the Rest of Bangladesh: A Comparison of Food Security Aspects" is organized by IFPRI and funded by USAID in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to discuss the results of the 2011-2012 IFPRI Household Survey for the Policy Research and Strategy Support Program.

A Conference titled “Increasing Productivity and Unleashing Growth in Pakistan” was hosted by the Pakistan Strategy Support Program in Serena Hotel, Islamabad, Pakistan, on May 26-27, 2012.
The conference covered a span of two days and 250 participants from various research institutions, universities, government and donor agencies attended. On May 26-27, 2010, the Bangladesh Ministry of Food and Disaster Management convened the Bangladesh Food Security Investment Forum 2010, which was inaugurated by Bangladesh’s Honorable Prime Minister Sheik Hasina.
Nearly 250 high-level policymakers, leading researchers, and representatives of development organizations are gathering in Dhaka from October 4-5 to discuss investment plans, priorities, and policies to advance agricultural development, achieve food and nutrition security, and improve the health and well-being of all Bangladeshi citizens. The policy workshop titled “Enhancing Food Security in Bangladesh: Evidence for Action” is organized by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) with support from the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) jointly hosted the International Conference on Climate Change and Food Security (ICCCFS) November 6-8, 2011 in Beijing, China. This conference provided a forum for leading international scientists and young researchers to present their latest research findings, exchange their research ideas, and share their experiences in the field of climate change and food security.
